Focus on the senses

Students imagine a range of sensations seen in an image in order to better understand historical and contemporary conditions. They develop an understanding of the importance of imagining sensations invoked by an image, as well as corroborating sensory experiences with additional details from outside sources. It includes instructional suggestions for teachers (learning about the strategy, practicing the strategy, independent student activities) and resources for students (sample images, rating scale, data chart, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
