Students decide whether or not an information source will be useful when researching a topic or question. They develop an understanding of the importance of assessing the relevance of information sources and identifying sources of information that are most relevant to a research topic or question. This tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy to everyday teaching, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (introductory activities, data charts, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
